My first game watching Tottenham Hotspur was at the County Ground against Swindon Town in the F.A Cup, I think the year was 1980 but i wouldn't bet on it. I can remember listening to the draw on the radio and Swindon's name came out, then the words "will play Tottenham Hotspur" followed. I couldn't believe my luck that I would finally get to watch the team I supported from the age of 6.

As for the day my main memory was of all the violence, Spurs fans had got into the Town End and were fighting with the Swindon supporters before they were escorted across the pitch to the Spurs enclosure. There were Spurs fans climbing the stansions into the stand roofs, they were up the flood lights and I think they also set fire to the burger van.

My memories of the game are that Spurs did very little, all I can remember was that Swindon's Alan Mayes should of had a penalty in the last minute of the game but it wasnt' given. So the star studded side of Tottenham Hotspur left the County Ground with a 0 - 0 draw, but went on to win the replay 2 - 1 after going a goal down.

So there it is, my first memory of watching Spurs was in fact very forgettable.
